Anemone tomentosa 'Robustissima'

I most enjoy the blooms of many plants just before they open when they are mysterious with possibility.

I love this picture and had just been thinking about having Mark take something similar of the anemone in our driveway. Has been so dry here. Scattered showers that keep missing our garden. I've been on a history and biog reading kick this summer. Having my goodreads list is helping me finish books and keep up at least marginal writing skills.

We have actually been lucky this season in that the showers smiled on us, but the huge storms just missed our neighborhood. I have only watered three times this summer...This plant can take it much dryer than the other Anemones.

For me, mysteries have been keeping me grounded. Especially as a matter of maintaining a less-than-Capitalist perspective on China during the Olympics, I am on second of an excellent series by Qiu Xiaolong.
