O, that poor tree! Bunnies are so cute but so dangerous! They caused damage in my garden, too.

Hi Tatyana:

Yes, bunnies are like so much else: a mixed blessing. Especially after we had West Nile Virus in the Chicago area a few years ago and the crows died, we have had a rabbit overload. Plants they didn't eat before are now appetizers, including some natives when they are tender. It's a learning curve. We have gone towards using more herbs & onions since they seem to avoid scented plants of that type.

I share Russian ancestry with you....

So far no bunny damage seen above the snow line. Usually by this time they've half devoured the willow and the Fothergilla. No snowdrops either and it's snowing again as I write!

Hi Julie

We have problems with bunnies in our garden too. And they make so much damage at our bushes. We put fens around the bushes but some we haven´t got any around and they have eaten at it. :o(
But I hope that they vill make it
. Around every stem we have a net that is there always. Beacuse if they do like they have done to your tree , the tree will not survive.

Have a nice day

Gunilla
