Hi from Guatemala

High heat, dry season began a month early...Climate Change possibly.
High poverty.
High inspiration from AFOPADI, step by step positive change.
High gratitude for all of it, especially teas from medicinal plants in the garden.

As always I appreciate hearing and seeing firsthand what is happening so close to us and yet so far from our minds. The fact that it is still cold and we have lots of snow on the ground on April 1 has me wondering what this coming growing season will hold in this part of the planet. The snow is slowly melting into the ground and not flooding so that is good. But 2013 will be the latest date that our pond has open water since we put it in in 1997. April 2 had been the prior latest date but I doubt the snow will melt by tomorrow! Working at the polls for 4/2 for spring elections so I feel like I am doing something positive!

You are doing something positive! Yes, so out of whack. Very sobering to be in a developing country where chanes really impact those at subsistence level. Today's cold was a bit shocking to wake up to 20s. I was told growers are digging several weeks late.
